How We Research
RccarHQ covers Hobby RC Cars. We help readers choose products that fit how they will actually use them. This page explains where our information comes from, how a product earns a place on a list, how we use AI tools, and how pages are kept up to date.
Where our information comes from
Our guides are built from research, not from a testing lab. For every product we compare:
- Manufacturer specifications, manuals and published safety or compatibility data
- Verified-buyer reviews across several retailers, read for repeated patterns (common failures, sizing or fit complaints, durability over months of use)
- Price, availability and warranty terms at the time of writing
- Reference sources such as standards bodies and manufacturer support pages, linked where we use them
When a detail comes from the manufacturer rather than from owner feedback, we say so.
What we look at
Every comparison weighs the same criteria, using the sources above:
- Bench and track evidence
- Electronics matching
- Durability and parts support
- Driver skill and safety
How a product makes a list
- We start from a wide field of options in the category and drop products with weak specs, unclear warranty terms or a pattern of the same complaint.
- Each remaining pick is matched to a specific use, budget or buyer, so every verdict says who it suits.
- We note who should skip a product, not only who should buy it.
- Topics we cover: Batteries & Chargers, Motors, ESCs, Servos & Radios, RC Monster Trucks & Bashers, RC Crawlers & Trail Trucks, Buggies, Short Course & On-Road, Tools, Maintenance & Track Gear.
How we use AI
We use AI writing tools to help draft and structure articles. Every page is checked against the sources above before it is published, and we correct it when a reader or a source shows something is wrong.
Affiliate links
RccarHQ earns a commission when you buy through some links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which products are listed or how they rank. Details: Affiliate Disclaimer.
Updates and corrections
Prices, models and availability change. We review guides regularly, replace discontinued products and update the date when a page changes. Spotted a mistake? Tell us and we will fix it.
